“Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking.”
Not-so-big newsflash: fashion trends are circular. Trends come and go, some stay for a while, then leave the sphere never to be found again. But most of them will surface a decade or so later. Prime examples of this can be found on the SS24 runways around the world as well. We won’t talk about the florals and ruffles that resurface every time the sun comes to say hi - wouldn’t want Miranda Priesley to get mad at us - but we’ll recap the cool things that keep buzzing and how you can make it wearable for everyday wear.
Welcome to the Polo Club
Not big into horses and balls? You don’t have to be. But if you want to be on-trend this season, we’d recommend looking into the polo look anyway, mainly the Polo T-Shirt, which can be worn either with jeans, skirts or as a layering piece under a jumper for a more preppy look.
I see right through you
… or at least through your clothes. The transparency trend is nothing too new - cf. SS18 when everybody and their mums were running around in transparent shoes or at least carrying a transparent bag - but this season, we go for a more subtly transparent look, meaning see-through tops layered with cute bralettes, or semi-transparent and bejewelled midi skirts.
Short, shorter, shortest
Let’s talk bottom-wear department! Once the weather gets better, our desire for ditching trousers and going legs-out grows. This season, we’re going for the tiny shorts. Yes, the ones that barely cover up the important parts. If you don’t feel fully comfortable to go this extreme but still don’t want to completely skip past the trend, we’d recommend you styling your shorty-shorts with a longer-lined blazer for supplementary coverage.
Go big or go home
For jewellery, we’re taking the opposite route of our bottom-wear, meaning the bigger the better. Statement earrings, layered necklaces, interesting bracelets, stacks of rings - we’re here for it all! And if you’re looking to elevate your otherwise simple outfit or enhance another style, you should be, too.
Glitz and glam
This season, we keep on shining bright! Be it with sequins and other embellishments, or in metallic fabrics, there’s no room for dull moments in the wardrobe this Spring-Summer. We’ve had our fair share of minimalism - it’s time to get the big guns out again.
Go with the flow
That’s the motto when it comes to dresses, pants and tops during the warmer days of the year (that are hopefully still coming). Easy to throw on, comfortable and warmer weather friendly, because honestly, nobody wants to be crammed up in tight outfits when they’re sweating their butt off while moving out and about.
