Meet The Team - Valeria Wiwinius

Last but not least, we have a third BIFluencer that you might’ve seen occasionally pop up on our socials. She’s the daughter of our founder and is helping out with all things writing and site management.

What does ‘Fashion’ mean to you?

It’s the one and only industry that, if you like it or not, we all participate in and no matter if we do it intentionally or not, I believe that the clothes we choose to wear on a daily basis say a lot about how we view the world and position ourselves, what kind of tasks we do and what we believe in - aka it’s a very powerful means of self-expression.

What role has Fashion played in your life up until now?

Due to my mum’s profession, I’ve been around pretty clothes since I was a child. Over the years, and to no one’s surprise, Fashion has grown into a fully-fledged passion that, once I was an adult, I decided to make into a career. And so, I studied Fashion Journalism at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom from 2017 to 2020, simultaneously doing a lot of freelancing jobs and internships to pave my way into the industry. Even though I slightly changed my career pathway further down the line, Fashion continues to play an huge role in my life and remains an important area of interest.

What’s the biggest Fashion faux-pas that you’ve committed?

There’s been quite a few, but I think that my biggest regret is generally wearing things that didn’t fit my body type, didn’t make me feel comfortable or hindered me in doing things I wanted/needed to do.

What’s your go-to look on a day-to-day basis?

I’m an oversized blazer girl all the way! Be it in combination with a skirt, pants or jeans - you can never go wrong with a nice blazer.

If you could swap wardrobes with one famous person, who would it be?

Tough one… I LOVE Alexa Chung’s, Zendaya’s and Victoria Beckham’s style, so probably one of theirs.

What makes BUON ITALIAN FASHION so special in your opinion?

Besides the fact that it’s literally my mum’s dream in form of a physical place, I think that it’s also a safe space to explore different styles and just have fun with clothes, which is what Fashion should be about.
