With great weather come great ideas - or at least, a bit of motivation. In our case, that motivation translated into a full-on photoshoot which was brilliantly executed by one of our all-time favourite photographers, Julia Podkolina.
The idea was executed on two levels. First of all, as you probably know by now, behind BIF stands a mother-daughter duo who live, breathe and work day and night to source and show the best that Italian fashion has to offer. If you look at our online shop (or our online presence in general, for that matter), you’ll most see the younger face though. We decided to change that with this edit.
Shot amongst the greenery of Luxembourg, the Mother Nature Edit is our first-ever look book that brings together bold Italian Spring pieces that feel as effortless as a walk in the sun. Imagine bold colours that contrast with delicate lace detailing and effortless designs - all presented by your favourite duo.
The location in itself is a story as well though. For this special occasion, the choice fell onto the park close to which we have always lived and Valeria has grown up.
“Since we opened our boutique in Luxembourg-City, I mostly go to work by public transport”, Iuliia explains. “To get to the bus stop, you have to walk through this park. You know the feeling when you get so used to something, you don’t even realise how beautiful it is anymore? That’s how I viewed the park, until a few weeks ago, when I walked through it on my way home. The new pieces had just arrived and I don’t know why - I just stopped mid-way, saw how the sun was falling through the leaves and was like ‘yes, that’s it’.”
Thought, said, done. A week later, we all found ourselves in said park to shoot our first-ever mother-daughter edit featuring a curated collection of 15 items in bold colours and effortless designs to make getting dressed as fun as it should be.
