Buon Italian Fashion began with a simple frustration. When our founder, Iuliia Grinkiv, moved to Luxembourg in 2002, she realised that the kind of Italian fashion she loved - timeless, high-quality staples - was hard to find in the Grand Duchy.
By coincidence, she found herself among a group of fashion buyers in Italy while on a personal shopping trip. Those connections would later prove invaluable, as her trips for her own wardrobe soon turned into sourcing unique pieces for friends who kept asking her to bring something back.
After almost five years of travelling and shopping for others, Iuliia decided to turn her passion into a business. In 2011, she opened her first showroom - in her daughter’s bedroom, no less. (Her daughter even took “commissions” per client for the use of the room, so you could say that BIF was a true family business from day 1 onwards.)
Following a house move, the showroom grew and served a circle of select clients for several years. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Iuliia decided to pause operations.
THE TURNING POINT
Three years later: the turning point. Iuliia took a bet with her friends saying that if her dream location at 30 Grand Rue in Diekirch, Luxembourg, would become available within the next year, she'd finally open a shop. Guess what? She lost the bet and here we are!
Since 2024, the above-mentioned address is home to BIF, a fashion boutique focused on mid-range Italian brands with interesting, good-quality articles that don't break the bank. At the forefront of the physical boutique is still Iuliia. Known for her keen eye, adaptable style and (sometimes brutally) honest opinion, she brings her Fashion Buyer knowledge to the forefront and helps each and every client fine-tune their personal style.
In 2025, Iuliia’s daughter Valeria joined the business after studying Fashion Journalism in London and working as a journalist. She now leads our external communication - from social media to the website - while still sharing in the buying process.
Together, the mother–daughter duo hand-pick every single clothing item, shoe, handbag, and accessory under the Buon Italian Fashion name.
