Styling 101: How to Always Look Put-Together

Each of us is born with a personal style that evolves over the years, getting refined and redefined until we (most of us, at least) have a system and wardrobe in place that reflects our style in every outfit we wear. Besides that personal style, there's also a 'mainstream style,' which includes trends, and do's and don'ts when putting together a look.

Generally speaking, those we perceive as having a great sense of fashion are often the ones who skillfully pair current trends with their personal taste. Despite popular belief, you can learn how to become the most stylish version of yourself. Here are a few tips and tricks to get you started on your styling journey!

1. Build a Strong Capsule Collection

We’ve already discussed the concept of a capsule collection in another blog post. For this specific situation, it’s recommended to stick to a neutral color palette that can be mixed and matched with trendier pieces added along the way.

Choose shapes, sizes and colours that best fit you and your body type in order to maximise your outfit's effect
how to become better at styling: consider how you want to be perceived and what vibe you want to give off

4. Go All In… or Not

Changing your personal style can be daunting. Give yourself time to adapt and take baby steps in the process. If your goal is to incorporate more color into your everyday wardrobe, start with a pop of color in an accessory, shoe, or bag. Next, you could add one item of clothing before going full-on fashionista.

5. Meet Your New BFF: Matching Sets

If it’s all still a bit too much, or you’re not in the mood to test and try different looks each morning, why not take the simple route and opt for matching sets, like a two-piece trouser suit? This way, you’re always sure to have a fully styled look ready to go. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can break it up by wearing the items separately and combining them with different looks.
